INTERVIEWER:Hello Charles, and thank you for coming to be interviewed . CHARLES MARTEL:Well I do have some spare time when I’m not smashing Saracen Armies. INTERVIEWER: Well, how has life been on the battlefield?
CHARLES MARTEL:It has been good, I have just had a tremendous victory at the battle of Tours. INTERVIEWER:Can you tell us more about that?
CHARLES MARTEL:Of course! I always enjoy describing my great victories.
INTERVIEWER: First, was it tough fighting the Moors from pouring into Europe.
CHARELS MARTEL:It was obviously tough, especially with their cavalry. At first, I thought that It would be a loss, but with my wisdom I guided my army to a victory that would be remembered for ever.
INTERVIEWER: Did you learn anything from this battle?
CHARLES MARTEL: Indeed I did, right after that battle, I decided to create a cavalry regiment to work with my army to help fight the Muslims, for one cannot expect to win every battle with just foot soldiers.
INTERVIEWER: As I have heard, I can see that you are indeed a great military leader, but how did you acquire such a large army?
CHARLES MARTEL:I was the son of Pepin of Heristal, and when he died I took control of his position of Mayor of the Palace and giving me the army which my father once possessed.
INTERVIEWER:What are you doing now, because obviously you aren’t fighting.
CHARLES MARTEL:The Pope asked me to defend the Holy See against the aggressive Lombards.
INTERVIEWER:Thank you for spending your time with me and telling me about your life.
CHARLES MARTEL: Any time.
